World Card making day projects #4

Happy Sunday,

What is your plans for today.  

While the hubby is watching football, I'm going to do some baking and maybe a little crafting.  

I am sharing my last project for the World Card Making day challenge.   

The challenge is Background Building with Shay.  

For this card I used these cool witches feet and legs to make my background panel.  

I just love this stamp.  It cracks me up every time I use it.  

I  colored the images using my alcohol markers.   I really would have loved to go black with the shoes but using black scares me a little.   Maybe someday....

I added a little sparkle to the star hanging  on the shoe string.  

I also stamped the little bats flying around.  

The sentiment really says I'm Feeling a Little batty but I did not want the I'm part.

to eliminate the word I used some Washi tape to cover the stamp when I inked it.

Then I removed the tape and stamped the sentiment.

World Card Making Day Project #3

Good Morning Friends.

Last week I was complaining about the hot weather.

Well, over the weekend the weather changed pretty dramatically.
We went from 100 degrees to to the low 70's and even got a bit of rain.
It actually feels like fall.

Today I am sharing another card I made from the
inspiration challenge from the Winnie and Walter Blog

This challenge is Rainbow color.

For my card I stamped and embossed leaves randomly on water color paper.

I then colored in my leaves in different rainbow colors.  

I got a little messy with one of the leaves so  I ended up adding color to the background.
I actually think it worked out much better than having the background all white.

I did not feel I had captured the essence of the rainbow color
so I decided to watercolor the sentiment as a rainbow.  

I added a second black die cut to add some shadow to the word "wonderful" to
allow the colors to pop off the background.  

I am really enjoying these new stitched background die's I purchased.
The sticking  not only helped with flattening the watercolor paper but they
add some interesting dimension.

World Card Making Day - Project 2

Hello there.

I'm back with my second project from the World Card Making Day challenges.

Again the challenge was from the Winnie and Walter Blog.  

This challenge is to create a CAS card.  

Kate from Winnie and Walter some awesome tips on making CAS cards and I have shared those below.  

My tips for CAS cards are..... 

•  Minimal! The less you put on you card means it has to be perfect as it will be easy to see even the slightest mistake.
• Colour! White space doesn't have to be just white. Using coloured card or paper in large blocks can still be CAS. 
• Time! Take your time. Even a CAS card can take an hour if you want to make it perfect, and get the look you want.
• Embellishment! Even CAS cards can have lots of added extras. Ink or paint flicks, sequins, Glossy Accents or Enamel Accents and heat embossing even die cuts can all add lots of important detail and texture to a CAS project.

I went with a Halloween theme to create my CAS card.

I first used my distress inks to create a halloween background color that I liked.

I then stamped the candy corn and bat images.  

I wanted my card to have and interesting border between the color and

the withe layers, so I cut the border with one of my wafer dies.
This die reminds me of a curvy road  

I didn't like the transition between the colored layer and the white 

so I decided that some black would give some contrast between the two.  

The sentiment is stamped in black and embossed.

Only about 8 more Halloween cards to go and then off to Christmas cards.

World Card Making Day Project #1

Hello there.  

I'm sure everyone know that last Saturday 10/1/16 was World Card Making Day.

My family left town and gave me an opportunity to not only wash every
textile in the house but to play with my crafty stuff.  

I stayed mostly  at the Winnie and Walter blog as they always have some fun challenges

One of the first ones to catch my eye was the Pinspiration with Heather H. 

Isn't this a pretty cake.   

If you know me you would think that the flower 

would be my focus since I am a flower nut.  

But it was the colors that I drew inspiration from.  

I love the black and yellow on white.  

And I even surprised myself my creating this interesting

Halloween card.

I love an easy CAS card.

I stamped and embossed the tree and the circle that created the moon.

Used some washi tape to create to border

Added the sentiment in layers using Halloween die cuts sentiments from Tim Holtz.

Mounted it on white card stock to keep the clean look
and 

POOF.... quick and easy card.  

I have a few more project to share.
